Increasing Piston Stroke

RE: Increasing Piston Stroke
Its popularslang to call that a G-series engine, because F-series block & H-series head. That, together with not many people beingaware that an actual G-series engine exists.
Honda actually made aG-series engine - 5-cylinder used in Acura Vigor.
Still, its a good search string for the F& H combination.

ok meaning what??...like...are they saying use just the top portion of the h22 and leave the rest f23??...or like how exactly is this done?...and this is better than the h22 swap???....and as far as him saying "bisimoto runs F heads and makes over 300whp all day."...thats with what mods?? or do you know?

H22 or H23 head on a...F23 or F22 block. It bolts together with ARP H23 headstuds.
Bisimoto runs 17:1 compression on a single cam F22engine with race fuel and carburetors. Not something you're likely to copy.

You would need to convert all the timing belt pieces on the block over to h23 timing belt pieces. I thought I had heard of some oil passages having to plugged, and forgot what head gasket you have to have.

H22/H23 head
H23 timing components as live2rice said...
Actually ya know what....go to honda-tech, look it up. All the parts you need are listed there. Also, DarksideAccord on 6thgenaccord.com did it as well. Should also point out that you really should have a 5spd first before even thinking about doing this.

It's not like the sleeves are just going to blow out from 8-10psi of pressure. Other things will go long before the sleeves do.

Yeah, thats true, but Ive heard about the FRM sleeves getting brittle and cracking from lots of stress cycles caused by the additional pressure of a turbo ...... these cases most likely had over 10 psi though.

Of interest, the great majority of the cylinder pressure rise is from heated / expanding nitrogen (which of course is an inert gas not involved in the combustion).
