My 2004 v6 Accord transmission is shot! Please help!
Hello everyone! I have an automatic 2004 v6 Accord Coupe with 80,000 miles. About a week ago, the transmission went out! I did tons of online research and discovered this model had a recall. I read all about it online. I called the Honda Customer Service recall phone number and was told that the recall repair procedure was done to this car in January 2005 (it's an 04 car!) and therefore my car was not eligible for a repair. I was told I could tow my car to Honda at my expense and have an authorized Honda mechanic look at it. Then I would call Customer Service and report what the mechanic found. Then Honda would have 72 hours to come up with an answer of what to do. I've read so many people on here said they all said the same thing: Honda wouldn't pay for it, Honda would only pay half of it, etc. So I think I'm going to replace the transmission with a used transmission for $1500 and then try to trade the car for a new car with a warranty!!! A couple of people on the net ended up replacing their transmission 3 times!!! I do not want this to happen to me, but I'm scared of being upside down on a car payment! I've only had the car for a year on a 4 year loan. What should I do? I'm scared to keep the car becasue of the horrible reputation the transmission has. And I buy a Honda because they are supposed to be dependable!!! I have no idea what to do! Please help!

AFAIK, you're at their mercy for a warranty/recall replacement, and the only option is to call Honda of America...
Short of that, keep arguing with them and see if they give in... or replace it on your own accord (no pun intended).
