whats happening peoples?
ive got a new toy that im putting together. its a h22a. the engine is already built and im confused about a few things. it came with a p13 ecu. how can i tell if it has been chipped or socketed?
its going into an accord. it has the f22 sohc in it with a manual trans. will that trans bolt up with the dohc h22a?
i also got a apexi vafc2 controller but ive heard alot of bad about that.
the guy who owned the motor prior to me had wrecked the car and it broke his will as he says. and he promises it runs if it dont he will refund my money. ive checked the block out and dont see any damage or anything. it has a ton of goodies on it and i think i got it for a good deal.
please dont flame me for being a n00b here. thanks for any advice and help in advance...

a p13 CAN'T be chipped and tuned. So you will need a p72 ecu chipped with tuning software. If you have a bunch of aftermarket parts that's the way you want to do is with a tuned p72 ecu.
Yes your f22 trans will bolt up to the h22. BUT....the f22 have hella long gears unlike the h22 trans. So it won't be as fast as it would be if it was mated with its original h22 trans (h22 trans has much shorter gears)
Don't bother with the controller...just do it the right way and get a p72 ecu tuned and have it dyno tuned...
check this website for ecu...

p28 ecu....if you run a p28 ecu you IAB's won't work...or you can delete them. But you do lose some low end by deleting them with out porting the manifold.

IF you want your IAB's to still work you need to run a p72 ecu
