OBX seems to be either a hit or miss company, some of their products work fine, others are just terrible. I personally would save up and get a Quaife.

I forgot what car you have, but if its a 5th gen you could just buy a JDM prelude tranny that has one in it, they usually go for $500 or so.

yes the prelude tranny is geared lower for better acceleration, so theoretically you would have a higher top speed, but it would still be about 140mph.

And if you are worried about taking axles out..............then this job isnt for you, because to either install a LSD or a new tranny you have to pull the motor and take the axles out.

And you have to completely disassemble a transmission to install a LSD

Even I would be uncomfortable putting an LSD in myself. Taking axles out means taking out the steering knuckles. If you got ahold of some AllData instructions to get the tranny out, you could do it over a long weekend.

I got mine off craigslist, but they go up on some other forums from time to time. prices can vary, some people swear they are worth $1000 when they really arent

I'm having my tranny torn down for LSD install, plus clutch and flywheel upgrade and to fix worn synchros.

Quaife LSD - $1050
tranny rebuild - $1050 + parts
