Radiator Leak... Serious Engine Overheat!!!
Hi guys. My radiator has been leaking pretty bad lately. I fill it up and drove 3 miles and it was empty. When it leaks the grill of the radiator is wet. Its not the hose or the tank. I think it might be the core? So to solve the core being shot id have to buy a new radiator? And my car overheated, it got to the red and the engine made a clicking noise from the 1500-2500 RPM range and I turned it of and coasted when I heard the clicking. [&:] Anyone know if i seriously damaged my engine or if I'm ok to drive after a radiator replacement. I'm really scared that I damaged my engine badly.

i would imagine that the engine wont be totalled by such a short incident;
check if radiator sealant will seal the leak-that cost me around 3quid when mine was leaking- which is cheaper but obviously not as safe as a new rad.

That is one of the most graphic pictures i have ever seen. Such Carnage. Well best of luck with fixin it. Whenever i look for any part for my car, i check everywhere else, then the dealer. Try a junkyard, if you find nothing good there, try ebay, then and only as a last resort would i tell you to check a dealer; becuase they will charge you a arm leg and a ********.

My only advice is to have your engine compression checked and to keep a good eye on the oil. Worst case is cracked head and or warped head which could end up putting water into the crankcase oil. The best case is it didn't go that far and you got lucky or just a blown headgasket which is still bad but less expensive to fix. Hope it didn't as it starts to get costly. But a leason learned I guess on knowing of a problem and not fixing it right away can wack ya in the wallet.
