Default a strange idea.

so i was thinking about a build and just lemme know guys what you think
i wanna do an f23 block (86mm bore)
type s rsx pistons (86mm)
h22 crank
f23 rods
h22 head
throw some kind of cams. still undecided.
so basically i want to have a higher reving engine like the h22
but the compression will be in the 11-12 range hopefully. i know for a fact that its in the 12 range with an f22a6 head on it idk if i'd loose or gain with the h22 head.
i should be able to rev higher though because of the h22 crank right? i know its ganna be alot of weight being thrown around in there but eh. just lemme know what you think

I have thought this idea up too. But not using k20 pistons but using h22 pistons.

Now if you are gonna be in the 11-12 c/r you will need a FLAWLESS tune. So you will need to shell out $400-500 just on a tune so you don't blow it up from pre det.

IF you swap the h22 head on you will lose a few points on compression since the h22 head has a 53.8cc dome head and the all the f22/23 engines have a 50cc chamber.

Also using a f23 rod will suck b/c you will have the c/r of a 8:96:1 way too low for dohc vtec head. So you will need to run h22a4 rods and h22a4 crank. You HAVE to use a h22a4 crank in a f23 block. You can't use a h22a or h22a1 crank.

play around with this...

you need to make sure your compression ratio is not too high and you need to make sure the piston is not sticking out of the hole (for valve piston clearance)

But all the money you are gonna throw at this you can buy a h22 swap for the same price. This won't be cheap to build. Your basically building a h22 engine out of a f23 block.

well i wanted to use the f23 rods with the k20 pistons because thats what this guy ivan used. his engine is f23 block crank and rods, with k20 pistons. 194whp mustang dyno. its compression is in the 12. the f23 has a higher stroke right?
for me its all about the build, its more of something to do because im 18, live with my parents, have a job, no gf, im bored and i love my cd5 lol
i'll proably go with the a6 head then cause i didnt know about the 3cc difference lol
but lets say
f23 block
h22 crank
f23 rods
k20 pistons
a6 head
i should be able to rev higher correct? and will changing the crank effect the piston height out of the block? or will it be the same?

it says -.020 in for piston height, it can be below the deck right?

-.020 is sticking g out of the block not in the hole. So the position will stick out for the hole 20ths of a in out of the block. If your using a h22a1or h22a block. You can use Any f22 crank.. you will basically have a h23vtec engine. A 2.2l stroked t oil a 2.3l but you need h22rods f22rods tab bit too long. If you have a h22a4 block you cant use f22 crank only f23 crank

but will the h22 rods fit on the f22 crank? or will they have to be...altered..
the f23 rod comes to a 0 deck piston variance, can i use those?

asl the h22 rods are longer and make it so the pistons sit .079 out of the block
