SWAP or Beef up
Hi guys hope I am in the right place for this.
I am new to the scene and bought me a cheap Honda Accord 98, CF3 chassis, JDM make with a F18B engine and AT transmision
So I want more power and a manual transmision but don't know to much about all the techniqques and what nots.
At first glance I was thinking of swaping the engine but I want to put one in that won't give me to much trouble in placing all the neceseries.
What engine can I put in my CF3 Accord with a MT?

Its hard for us to answer that, as most everyone here is from the USA where the chassis and engine arent available. I would be willing to bet that a F22/H22/F20B would fit in its place reasonably well as I doubt they changed that much on the chassis.
As far as beefing it up I have no idea what parts are available for it, but a 1.8l is a pretty small engine for a decently heavy Accord.

SO I thought
My guts were telling I was gonna get that answer but just needed to be sure.
Ps. What is the diference between these enginges F22/H22/F20, accept for the fact that two are 2.2 and one is 2.0.
How can I be sure they will fit?

f22 come in the US accords it's 2.2l that makes 125hp-140hp (crank hp) depends on which f22 you get.
H22 come out preludes. 2.2l vtec engine that makes 200hp (crank hp)
The f20 is a destroked h22 pretty much. I think it makes around 200hp (crank hp) but I don;t know too much about them live2rice can tell you more he owns one.
As Cam said most of us are in the US and not familiar with your chassis.

i'm not sure when the usdm 5th gen accord started but up until 97, it had the f22 as mentioned above, i'm not sure how fitment will be.
usdm accord from 98-02 have a few but you would want the f23 vtec lev. it has 150 at the crank, *should drop right in with your factory mounts.
there is a euro-r on your side of the planet and japan. it contains an h22a. (probably your most ideal option) (we have the h series also but for our preludes only) it has 220 hp at the crank, lsd, best performance engine for the chassis and will fit very comfortably with your car.
the second best option for your car would be the sir-t's engine. it is the f20b(not to be confused with the f20c((s2000 rwd))) has 200 hp crank, lsd, etc, and would slide right in your engine bay. i would concertrate more towards the last two options because you have a better access to the besides our usdm engines.
you'll have to take into consideration, that you'll need to cut a firewall for the new clutch pedal. and any swap requirement. theres a lot of info scattered throughout the internet. i've talked to a guy on forums with the f20b, 8000 rpm redline. they couldn't be happier, he had the automatic engine too which was factory de-tuned to 180hp.
any way you decide, be sure to find the proper ecu. they are fairly interchangable but if you want the engine the way honda designed, i advise you carefullylook for that also.

a f23 will drop in just like the f22. But the f23 isn’t that great of a engine...unless you turn it into a hybrid engine. WIth a h23 or h22 vtec head...head doesn’t flow all that great.
haha that sux you have to cut the firewall to do a 5speed swap in your gen accord. Mine I had the hole all ready there form the factory...ahh I love my cb7

the f22a4 is a good start. You can use OEM parts and get in the 160-170ish range.
If you want a g22/23 you need a h22/23 head and slap it on a f22/23 block. But it is some work to put a H series head on a F22 block. It can be done. Just takes headaches and some extra work to make it happen. I know...I’m in the works of one
