Default synthetic oil vs. high mileage oil

i hav a 1998 Honda Accord LX V6 with 104,000 miles, should I use synthetic oil or high mileage oil??? does it matter? on my newer cars i hav been using synthetic oil and i was wondering if i could use it for as long as i keep the car which most likely is goin to be over 150,000 miles.

Do a search over the forums, there was a pretty long thread about this very subject that was pretty active about a month ago or so.

if you got the extra money use syntetic oil all year around but i still would reccomend replacing it no longer than 3500 miles ( oil + filter)......other wise just regular engine oil will do , 5w-20 or 10w-30 depending on where you reside ,, cold climate go with 5w-20 in winter and 10w-30 in summer , again replace at 3000-3500 miles ,

I wouldn't waste your money on anythingother than straight up dino oil and regular oil changes

I don't feel that you would get your money's worth by switching to synthetic this late in the game. Stick with name brand dino & good filters, both air and oil, and drive it. If you switched to synthetic you would need to get 2-3 used oil analysis to see how well it is holding up and to determine if you could go with longer oil change intervals. Too much expense involved for another 40K miles in my opinion.

i agree , stick with good old dino oil, No matter how goos syntheic is, Theres nothing wrong with good dino oil, as long you chnage every 3k in my opinion nothing wrong will come out of honda engine if you change the oil every 3k.

I just put high mileage oil into my 94 EX. It seems to be running a little better.
