Default Thinking of going synthetic

It will cost me about $25 extra bucks but I think it will be worth it. I was just wondering can it get me more MPG? And how often do I have to change synthetic oil?

they claim it will give better mpg, if its actually noticeable..........probably not.

some synthetics say that you dont have to change it as often, i still do.

another thing to keep in mind is if you are burning oil, a synthetic will burn much faster, esp royal purple, that stuff burns like crazy

Well your good to go if you want to switch. It's not really advised to switch to synthetic if you're already over 100k. I personally use Mobil1 on all my cars (99 Accord and 04 MDX). My 99 has seen Mobil1 since it was first filled at the Honda plant.

Royal Purple is the best oil to use if you have heavy modifications and/or race, but for the average consumer is just overkill, IMO.

I saw a independent study on bearing scarring inside engines with every big name oil out there, synthetic and non, and royal purple outperformed everything by a long shot

I've used Mobile 1 in my since I bought it with 25 miles on the OD. I usually do oil changes every 3000 miles and the maintence minder says the oil is at 50% everytime, its like clockwork.....
