RP is the best performing oil, but it uses graphite as its main lubricant. Over time, the graphite deposits can form a concrete-like substance that can kill the motor.

Amsoil Series 2000 is my #1 choice for a DD. It also allows you to drag out the change interval about as long as most people would be comfortable doing. I've done repeatative full-year intervals with this stuff before ...... no problems ever.

Graphite? What? Sorry that's just plain made up crap. What is does contain is Moly (Molybdenum Disulfide), a common additive in many oils.
Looking at the oil analysis' on Bobistheoilguy doesn't bode well for Royal Purple. The vast majority of the analysis' have been just average or poor. In most cases plain dino oil has a better showing. I would not recommend that brand of oil, it is way too expensive foran average to sub par oil.

Ok, you're right .... but apparently, Moly is not very common and it is very similar to graphite. Check out this public press release from Amsoil.

You would be hard pressed NOT to find moly in a modern oil! Not every maker uses it but the vast majority have some in their oil, Red Line has the most. I've looked at hundreds of oil analysis' and moly is a common ingredient in most. Honda's break in oil is VERY high in Moly.

I'm sticking to Amsoil ..... I ran 3 consecutive full year intervals on my Z24 and never had any engine problems ..... not that I'd ever do that on my tC ...... especially after the turbo goes in, but that's some pretty powerful first hand experience!!!

EDIT: And it's Moly free!!!! FTOwnage!!!

Just about impossible to beat Amsoil. If it weren't so difficult for me to get (and expensive) I wouldcerainly use it.

I order it ..... now that I can use it again (just broke 20k) I'll probably get prefered customer status again ...... I split the cost with my buddy with the EP3 ..... his Eldorado used to drink the stuff, but it purred lie a kitten ..... then tried to rip your head off of your neck with it's 300 FWD-HP!
