I'm good. I never feel any jerk when i downshift into 3rd gear..Not that I do it much. But I do know that from D4 to D3 you don't need to press the button and/or hold the brake. But from D3 to D2 and back to D3 you need to press the button. But the jerk IMO is the rpms shooting up. The transmission hurts itself everyday because its a POS 6th gen auto tranny..Unless you got the rebuilt one from the warranty.

RE: transmission question?
Question!
So what about going from D3-D4 or D4-D3? I know in the manual it states that if you are in alot of stop and go/hilly driving you should be in D3 b/c overdrive causes alot more stress on the tranny and motor in steep hills n' such.

RE: transmission question?
I have downshifted from D4 to 2 with the speed under 50mph to pick more speed espcially in the city and on ramps, downshifted D4 to 3 to for more speed too on the free way.
Look in your car manual to see the maximum speed allowed for each gear and do not go over that, also do not hit the red line too.
