Whining at idle
Is it hurting the internals not changing out oil pump gear for the whine ? Got the whine Don't look to bad to do, been mechanic for 35 years , thinking on doing chain , oil pump , tensioner all guides etc! All Honda part?

Have you ruled out external stuff like the alternator? A diode bridge starting to go bad & cause a whining noise.
As far as the chaincase stuff, it seems like they don't go bad unless it has a history of allowing the oil level to drop. There is a way to check the extension of the chain-tensioner, but I don't remember the details. You remove the crankshaft pulley (for the serpentine belt) & unbolt a little cover to see the tensioner. If you're doing that kind of work you might want to get a shop manual for all the details (tightening torques etc).
