"Chekck Engine" Codes and my mechanic's feedback
My check engine light started blinking, and the car started running real rough on my way home for work on Friday. I brought it into my mechanic, and here is what he told me.
He came back with the following codes:
P0300
P0301
P0302
P1738
He said the first three were misfire codes that were caused by a distributor cap and rotor that need to be replaced. The last code was a transmission code that he thinks may have been triggered by the shaking that reuslted from the misfire. He's checking into this now.
What do you think of his advice?
How much should it cost me to fix the problem??
Thank you for your feedback.
The car is a 2002 Honda Accord 4 Cylinder VE edition. It's got a little over 90K miles on it.

Cap and rotor (if that's the problem) is an easy fix.... the P1738 can be a number of things.... I once read somewhere that just cleaning your egr ports can clear that one up.... You might find that just replacing the cap/rotor and cleaning the EGR ports clears up the whole thing...
