Default '03 Accord Lacks Power/Acceleration

Please help! I have a 2003 Accord LX, 4 cylinder with 115K miles, that has about half the power/acceleration it used to have. It idles fine and runs smooth. The Engine light is on and I've replaced the PCV valve with no improvement noted. The fuel filter on this model is in the tank, but I don't think that's the issue due to the smoothness of acceleration. Anybody have a suggestion? Oxygen sensor, EGR? Thanks!

Better off in the General Tech area, so I'll move this.

My 2003 Accord EX blew up just over a 100,000 from the slack adjuster failing. It had about half the power the last years of it life and was pretty worn out during inspection even the cams were worn According to the dealership.

I should have said....

Check engine light is on? Go to AutoZone & have them read the error code. Give us the actual code number (P1234 or whatever) not just the guy's explanation.

I missed the check engine light in the post. Hopefully it is something that improves performance when corrected.

Hi, the trouble code is P0341, "CMP Sensor and CKP Sensor incorrect phase detected". Is this an electrical issue or do I just replace both CMP sensors and the ckp sensor? Thanks again!

Lightbulb About You Code

About your code PO 340 to Po 344

1st Your Cam Sensor is Defective...so Replace it.
2nd Check that connector and the wires leading to the sensor it self.

If that don't do the trick, then off with you to the erepair shop

That is an eerie coincidence as the cam sensor code came on just before the slack adjuster failed in my 2003 Accord EX. It went thought a ton of oil I would later find out in a few miles with the only warning was the check engine light. I stopped at Autozone when the check engine light came on. I had just topped the oil off about 80 miles before and a few miles after stopping at Autozone it blew up without the oil light coming on. The dealership did the teardown and said it was very low on oil. I got no smoke or noise just the cam sensor code.

Just in case see if it is low on oil

Cam sensors are mounted on the end of the cylinder head, # 6&7 in this picture.

Crank sensor is mounted in the back of the chain case, #3 in this picture.
