04 Accord DX A/C Delay
Annoyingly, on days in the high 90s, the A/C occasionally decides to generate nothing but hot air until you have driven a few miles, and then it functions perfectly with very cold air after turning it on and off a few times. Other days it comes on immediately on start up. Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I drove into a Pep boys and they replaced the thermostat and another electrical item ("electric CO ??- whatever that is) 7 months ago when the vehicle acted like it was going to overheat. Question: Any idea what is causing this to happen?

04 accord A C delayed
My problem is similar to yours but different. Annoyingly, on days in the high 90s, my A/C occasionally decides to generate nothing but hot air until you have driven a few miles, and then it functions perfectly with very cold air after turning it on and off a few times. Once it starts cooling it continues, where yours seems to cut off. I have friend who experienced the same problem with a different car and after years of taking it to mechanics finally googled it and found it was an faulty $20 heat sensor in an obscure place that was causing the problem.

I've merged your other post about your car into this one thread....that way we aren't chasing two threads with the same isssue.
One more thing I didn't think of before - you can also check for any HVAC codes. The AC unit has a "self test" function that you can put it thru and see if it detects anything that is not working.
Check the "Common DIY and Info Threads" sticky at the top of this section for a "how to".

Poorman212, Thanks for merging my post!!(I was unable to remove from the DIY forum). Thanks for your suggestions. On the rad fans, both come on when I turn the ac on. Then, for the HVAC codes, I performed the test under "03-07 accords without climate control" and no DTC's were found because the re-circulation indicator did not blink during the diagnostic. During the diagnostic, the front defogger light ignited, then the a c light ignited and finally the recirculation light ignited, but never blinked after the initial two blinks that commenced the diagnostic. Any other ideas?
