my wife was driving our 09 accord exl( v6 auto70000) miles thursday when it just shuts off, couldnt get to restart, had to be towed to local honda dealership,friday morning the tech calls me saying the starter was bad, 450 parts and labor,had to order it be here sat morning, i was ok with that as we have extended warrenty. around 10 this morning, they call saying the starter was in but wouldnt start, tech has 27 years experence, said he hadnt seen this one before,gonna need a few more days. Has anyone had this problem, or any ideas ? thanks Greg

 

If the engine stalled out while driving, then that would have nothing to do with the starter.

If you got in your car to start it and nothing happens, then I could see the starter being the problem.

Is the replacement starter working now?

The dealership will have to test for spark, fuel, timing, and compression to figure out what is going on.

 

Please let us know what comes of this?

 

from what my wife tells me the car just quit in the middle of a turn, i couldnt get the car to start, so it was towed to honda dealership, where they did install a reman starter with no results, i will update more when they get more info. thanks greg

 

have you checked the battery?

 

battery is new 2 months old from the same honda dealership, also dealership called today said motor is locked up, 2009 74000 miles oil changed every 3000 miles. just doesnt sound right to me, im going down tomorrow to talk with the tech , had to work today

 

did the dealership check the ECU?
