09 Accord LX Fuel Filler Door Hinge
I am having trouble getting the fuel filler door to open consistantly. The dealer adjusted the cable and it seemed to work for awhile but the problem still exists. Sometimes it opens the first time I push the lever inside, other times it takes 20+ pushes to finally get it open.
I compared my fuel door to a co-workers 2009 Accord fuel door and I noticed that his door had more "tension" or "spring" in the hinge. So it seems the problem is not in the cable but in the door hinge. Can it be adjusted? Is there an actual spring in the hinge that could be replaced? Or do I need to get a whole new fuel door?
Thanks for your help. This forum is great!

I finally got fed up, and fixed mine.
I pulled lever assembly out and saw that the cable has a position adjustment.
It was just a matter of pulling the cable out and putting it back on a different slot. You have 3 positions to choose from. I moved it from the middle one to the 3rd counting from the front. This gives you about 3 more millimeters of cable throw.
Once you know what to look for, this job takes about 5 minutes.
