Default 12 years old spare tire

Hi all, just wanted some advice if It’s still safe to use a 12 years old tire, this happened to be my spare tire, I bought this car recently and I’m planning to replace the two front tires and notice that the spare tire on the compartment was unused, so I’m thinking to use it and buy only one on same brand and size. What do you think?

Not the best idea. The rubber gets hard & slippery with age, & also begins cracking. It's traction won't match the other (new) one at the other side. That's why if you have a full-size spare tire, it's better to include it in the tire rotation.
