1984 Accord Timing Belt Replacement
I am new to this site and a new owner of a 1984 Accord. Bought it not running and diagnosed that the timing belt needs to be replaced. Going through the disassembly and realizing that this car will be a bit tough to work on because of the tight spaces to work in, (not exactly a chevy truck, my other vehicle).
My first obsticle is trying to reach and loosen the alternator adjustment bolt. Does anyone have a creative way to get to this? Looking for any other advice related to replacing the timing belt. Following the Haynes book step by step.
Thanks,
Scott

Bolt removed, new problem
Went to the local Harbor Freight and bought a ratchet with a long extension and got the bolt out.
Next problem, crankshaft pully bolt. I cannot secure the crankshaft pully from spinning to remove the pully bolt. This is because the timing belt teeth are stripped off and I cannot lock the camshaft pully. Any ideas? Oh, just to make sure, the crankshaft pully bolt is standard thread direction (counterclockwise to remove) right?
All help is appreciated!

Pulley has a large hex-shaped recess (55mm or something like that) - that's what the tool engages.
A home-made tool would be a big nut with 55mm(?) across the flats, with a hole large enough to pass the 17mm socket for the bolt. Then a big bar welded across that nut.
