I checked fuel filters and pressure.i replace one vaccum line. and putseafoam in the tank. nothing has helped .I removed the top of the carb and moved the floay up and down with my finger(not sure if that did anything either. please help. .sorry if I posted in the wrong section. im still trying to figure this site out. im sorry for reposting here but I found the correct spot for my question

I have to ask a few questions. Sorry, some of these are going to seem strange but need a bit of background to know where to start.
How long have you had the car?
Did this just start one day out of the blue. Was there any recent work done on the car.
Tune up items (cap, rotor, plugs, ect) are up to date.
What was the fuel pressure reading? What is the float level/gas level in the carb bowl, there is a sight glass on the drivers side of the car - view with the base of the air cleaner off or lifted up from the drivers side tire.
The two fuel filters are cheap, if not sure when they were changed....change both.
We can start with these and go from there.

I just bought the car 4 days ago,and they "said' it ran great when parked 6 months ago, just had a fast idle, the float level is just under halfway, and I cleaned the main jet and the jet in the corner of the first barrel. both filters are new for fuel
