RE: 1989 Honda Accord wont Start?
Hey guys, first off I would like to say thank you to all of those who have chimed in with their comments!
I am looking thought this online manual, it states that I can access the fuel pump through the left maintenance access panel in the truck. is this correct or do i have to pull the tank down...?

If there is a LH side access cover, you should be able to pull the fuel pump through it. Accords I've had only have a RH side access cover for the fuel gauge assembly.
good luck

Do i have to drop the tank to test the fuel pump relay? I check the fuse 15a for the fuel pump but it's not blown.

Hi Everyone,
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR ADVICE AND GUIDANCE!
I installed the new fuel pump this morning and problem solved. Thanks again everyone!
There are two round access panels in the trunk, I was able to access the fuel pump through there, it was great that I didnt have to drop the tank cause I had just filled the tank up.
cheers, [8D]

So I have a 1989 Honda Accord LX, 2L I4. I took my car for a drive throughout the day and by the time I got home, the car was still running fine, I left the house around 11 in the morning, I got back around 9 9:30 at night. Everything was running fine, it started fine throughout the day, but in the next morning once I tried it start it, it was crank no start. There was a some faulty wiring, my ignition fuse popped, I ended up replacing the distributor, it had a couple of pressure cracks and a few holes in it, the rotor was moving freely when the distributor was put on. I replaced it and still crank no start, changed both fuel filters, starter relay, ignition module, replaced the OEM plug wires with new plugs, retuned the carb with a brand new gasket. And still crank no start! When I installed the distributor, I made sure that the flywheel was top dead center, put the distributor in, started it and it sounded it like timing was off, so I took the distributor out rotated it 180 and put it back in, sounded like I wasn't getting enough spark, so I double checked everything, I was getting spark. I even took my timing cover off to see if the belt might have slipped a tooth and it didn't, my timing is correct. So I'm honestly quite confused as to why my car won't start! It feels like I've done everything
