well, i tried downloading the manual for my car in the diy section. first thing i noticed is there is none for a 1990 only at 1991. so i decided to download it anyway. what a waste of time. there are no index's, and no table of contents so you have to go through 20+ pages before you ever get to what your looking for. I now will go out and buy a manual that is complete and makes sense.

i do however, have an issue that maybe someone can help me with. when i am at a light or stop sign, and i push hard on the gas to take off faster than normal, i get a horrible smell in the car. it happens when i have the air on and also when it is off. it almost smells like a used gas smell or some type of chemical smell and it only last for a very little bit, then gone. does anyone have any idea as to what this could be? this is even more frustrating than the manual thing!

 

Yeah, I understand about the manual. Not having an index is a big pain. The very best book comes from www dot helminc dot com but it's not cheap. The pdf manuals seem to be the Helm book for British cars (RHD & different engines).

 

The 91 manual is very similar to 90 and should provide good information.

hmm considering its only when you accelerate hard and it lasts for only a short time it very well could be a minor exhaust leak get under the car and check for holes. is the car noisy at all, like an exhaust rumble of any kind? hows the under body?
