Check for spark on each cylinder by using a timing light if you have one available.
The best way to verify fuel pressure is hooking up a pressure gauge on the rail. The problem is that finding an adapter is not easy. Do you hear the fuel pump turn on for two seconds when you turn the key to the II position? It is a faint whirling/buzzing sound that comes from the back seat.

Hmmmm got the car dirt cheap.
Wonder why?
Do you know if the T-belt was ever changed?
Are you able to check for proper timing with the upper T-belt cover removed?
Are you able to keep the engine running by throttle?
Does the exhaust smell like it is flooding out?
Do the spark plugs have a gap larger than 1/4' ? LOL
Does the engine die as soon as the key is released from the 'crank' position?

hey hondadude lol ok me and my bro just went and checked if the fuel pump was working and is was. there was a hummming sound soi dont think this is it.car only has 180000 miles in it which is not very many for this kind of car. motor just turn over but will not start up. guy told me when he put starter fluid in the carb it would start up for couple seconds and die. so im still thinking that it has to be something to do with the feul. also pulled oil dip stick out smelled it and smelled like gas ???

okay you can use a long screwdriver as a stethoscope and listen for the injectors to click when cranking.
maybe try to pull off the vacum line at the fuel pressure regulator to see if raw gas is in it.
Pull out a spark plug to see if it is soaked with gas, after cranking.
Be sure the little ground wire at the T-stat housing is clean and tight.
If the oil smells like gas either the engine is flooding [weak spark?] or it has been cranked for so long the cylinders are getting washed out.
Jumper the blue 2 pin connector at the top of the passenger side kick panel, turn on the key and check for flash codes on the CEL.
