1990 EX Questions.
Hi,
Been out of the Honda realm for many years so need input/opinions please:
Daughter is going to look at a 90 EX. Car has 170k and engine and 5spd trans (not rebuilt) has 100k. I believe (and lets assume the swap was done correctly as they put new timing belt, pump and thermostat at that time) the car is in excellent shape with no issues (again assumption) other than reasonable for the age.
What should I be looking for other than usual one looks at (are there quirks for this vintage make/model?).
What's a range regarding value for this given the above.
Are there inexpensive ways to increase mileage (i think these get about 25.35?)
Think that covers it..thank you in advance for your input.

The front brake rotors are a major pain to replace on 90-97 accords.
I would not assume anything when buying a used car. Ask for documentation that the timing belt/water pump was changed. Also ask for information on the maintenance records on the car.
I would also suggest taking the car to get a buyer's inspection. A trained mechanic would be able to tell you if you need suspension repairs, etc.
Definitely test drive the vehicle.
A well-maintained honda engine can run for 250K miles or even more without too many problems.
