Were you noticing the steering getting tight and loose when making turns at low speeds?

Look at the power steering fluid reservoir and make sure the fluid is clear and doesn't have a lot of air bubbles.

The power steering pump could also be the issue and is much easier to replace compared to the power steering rack.
