1990 Honda Accord won’t start – sometimes.
Very weird problem. 1990 Honda Accord won’t start, most of the time. At times (when it won’t start) the front flashers go off – almost as if alarm system is locking down the ignition. Had an alarm system installed a long time ago which hasn’t worked for some time?
Power is fine, Battery is strong and changed out alternator, plugs and wire cables approx 6 mths ago. Starter is fine since the car does start at times. No turnover at all when car won’t start.
Any idea’s – apprears to be electrical but no idea where to start.

Check that keyswitch power to the starter solenoid (Blk/Wht) wire is energized by keyswitch turned to Start position, and check that voltage also appears at the starter solenoid. It could be bad keyswitch or an interruption from relic alarm system.
Your alarm mayonly interupt the ignition spark system, starter system, or both.
I would remove the alarm system completely. This may require a wire splice to restore.
good luck

Factory Honda alarma have their own harness and easily to remove, just remove the harness and plug in the original connectors. Aftermarkets alarms usually have you cut the power wire from the ignition switch to the starter, somewhere near the steering column, so the wires can pass through the immobilizer relay at the alarms main circuit board. That relay could possibly be going bad and getting frozen in an open position, not allowing any current to go through.
