I have a 1993 Accord LX with an automatic transmission with 206k miles and it shifts gears kind of hard. Can this just be filter/fluid or should be I be looking for a rebuilt trans

 

there is no serviceable filter.

Draining and filling the trans 3 times with a short drive between each fill is the best way of changing the fluid.

Many people have had good results others it did not help at all.

Cleaning the screen on the shift Solenoids has also have good results for some.

I would try both and if there is no difference you may have to deal with getting a new trans down the road.

My auto recently blew with no warning at all, I changed it out to a 5 speed.

 

Only thing I might add is to check the throttle control cable for proper adjustment and movement. Also double check the mounts.
