Default 1993 Accord manual transmission problems please help

So I have a 1993 Honda Accord Ex, about 173,000 miles on it. Ever since I can remember, 3rd gear occasionally grinds when shifting. About 10,000 miles ago 3rd gear starting popping out randomly, and 5,000 miles ago, it wont stay in at all. I've been able to drive simply skipping 3rd gear. However last night, 4th gear is starting to pop out as well. Does anybody here have any idea as to what exactly is wrong in the transmission? Any advice or similar experiences would be great. Money is tight right now, so I don't have 3000 or 4000 for a new transmission.

Check your fluid level, sounds like your synchros are cashed
car-part.com find a tranny in a junkyard in your area, and drop it in should be 300 bucks.

A good used transmission from a bone yard should only cost you in the mid hundreds, nowhere near the three to four grand you're worried about.

If you do have to get the trans replaced (sounds that way) might as well do the flywheel, clutch set and rear main seal.....if I had to guess, ~$800 for parts and labor. If you know someone that can do this with your help that can/will save most of the labor.

If you have to put this off for any time, go ahead and change the trans fluid....might, might buy you some extra time before the "others" go.

I've heard people see improvement by using Pennzoil Synchromesh fluid. Nothing's gonna fix a BROKEN synchro hub, but maybe buy some time.
