Default 1994 accord that sometimes will not start

This seems like a great forum. I tried to reasearch my issue , but either couldn't find it, or don't know how to find the right thread. I need help. Here's the issue. 1994 accord dx 170k it started about 2 years ago. when the weather is warm to hot out(85+) the car will sometimes just not restart after being turned off. it just cranks, and cranks. most of the time if you let it sit for 10-60 mins it will restart. just recently however it has started to just die, and then not restart for a wile. someone told me it could be the ballast resistor. does anyone have an idea shat is going on? I love the car, but it is causing me to rip my hair out. thanks everyone!

When you turn the key on listen for the fuel pump to run a few seconds, use a test light to check for power at the Black/yellow wire of the coil.

Any CEL? Check for flash codes by shorting the BLUE 2 pin connector behing/below the glovebox and turn on the key.

Is it fuel? Sounds like it; I have worked on many Full Sized Broncos, this sounds like the tank pump may be getting old. What about will it die on you (hot) going up a hill?

IT SURE IS..

Now for your issue,, when car does not start you need to determine if it is lack of fuel or spark,,,,,,
when it won't start, remove the air intake tube going to throttle body, get a can of carb cleaner, manually open the butterfly and while someone cranks the engine spray carb cleaner in throttle body, if engine starts and stay running while you spray carb cleaner then it is a fuel issue.......( main relay ? pump? plugged filter ? )

If still no go, chk for spark ,, give this a try ..
