Default 1994 ex stumbles on acceleration at 1500 - 2000 rpm

My wife has a 1994 Honda Accord EX that stumbles on acceleration between 1500 - 2000 rpm. I have been struggling with this problem. I gave it a tune up plugs, cap, rotor, pcv, wires, gas filter, air filter - (NGK plugs and wires - good quality parts). So that ruled out a clogged gas filter, bad plugs or wires and a possible crack in the distributor cap. I thought maybe the engine temperature sensor was bad so I checked it, read the resistance curve backwards and replaced it, so it was not that. Oxygen sensor is 1-1/2 years old so that is ok.
I thought it was a weak coil so I guessed and replaced that. I thought the EGR valve may be hanging up so I took it off, checked it and it is functioning fine.
Unfortunately I do not have a fuel pressuer guage otherwise I would check to see if it is a week fuel pump. Instead I had my wife put the car in drive with her foot on the brake and accelerate and hold the RPM between 1500 - 2000 rpm and I sprayed throttle body spray into the intake thinking if the engine was starving for gas the engine stumble should go away and instead the engine would stall so I think I have an AIR problem or a timing problem.
My next step it to see if the timing is advancing on acceleration so after this email I will check that.
What really confuses me is the check engine light does not come on so I cannot even look for a code.

Does anybod have any suggestions??

Thanks

i had a '91 that sputtered at those rpm's until it warmed up.

cleaned the egr ports (i believe that's what they are called) and it solved the problem. carbon buildup had to be removed .

Man , there's like a 100 different products on the market, one of them that comes to mind is STP's Throttle Spray, another is Lucas products injector cleaner and many, many more if you look in your local parts store.
