1994 Honda Accord EX Idle dips
Hello everyone, I have a 1994 Honda Accord and I have a question about the idling system. Anytime i sit and have the car running it will be idling fine and then there will be a sudden dip in the rpm's (down to about 250) and then it will go back to its average idle rpm (about 750-900). I took the car into AutoZone and the guy there told me it was the beginning of my transmission going out. Just came to this forum to see what you guys have to say and if I can believe this guy. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It's likely a dirty throttle body and idle air control valve (IACV). Cleaning is fix.
When load (alternator or AC compressor) is added IACV should open to allow more air and increase idle speed to avoid too low rpm. A dirty throttle plate and IACV will block the air flow.
good luck

Check DIY forum for previous posts on the subject. Check youtube for videos. Similar repair for Accord 4-cyls from 1990-2002.
You can clean throttle plate and bore in place by removing air intake. IACV must be disconnected from throttle body (tight access on back side of throttle body). Leave coolant lines intact and clean in place w/ throttle body cleaner.
good luck
