1994 Multiple Problems, please help.
First off I have used the search and seached through all the pages of the tech help.
My car is a 1994 Honda Accord, 2.2 4 cylinder. I don't know if it is LX,EX,or DX. I think it is LX, it is a 4 door with NO sunroof ( I think that matters?) with power everything. Automatic transmission.
Now for the problems, the first seems to be common but I can't find a thread with the same thing happening. Several months back I got in my car when cranked the D4 light was flashing and when in D4 it had no power but would go, I was just going down the street, I could put it in D1 D2 D3 everything was fine. When I got back in the car everything was back to normal with no problems and no light, I just figured it was a electrical fart and didn't worry about it. Then a few months back I stopped to get gas then when trying to start back up and leave my car would not start or would start or a second then act like it was out of gas and die, the D4 light was flashing. After about 5 minutes of trying to start it, I got out tried calling work to say I would be late (luch break) got back in and it fired right up without a problem. Now 2 nights ago the same thing happened, I was at a friends house for just a few minutes then went to leave and it wouldn't crank took the key out put it back in twice and it cranked up.(The D4 light flashed until it cranked then it was out). I will do the test I have seen links to tomorrow or this weekend but will it work if the light does not stay on? The only time the light comes on is when something acts up. Oh and the check engine light has never came on.
The second problem is slowly my dash lights have went out, It started when I would have the blinker on and it cancels after turning, the dash lights would flicker sometimes and now they are completely out (I have checked all fuses). The warning lights work and the cruise light works just not the back lighting. Also, the lights behind the a/c and heat controls don't work but the lights on the directional buttons do work. I don't know if there are even lights behind the *****, they have never worked since I bought the car. The clock goes out when I turn the headlights on but if you peck on it it will slowly come back on then after a few seconds go back out.
The third and final problem I think it is a sensor but while I am asking I will try to confirm. My odometer does not work and is stuck at 108,699 the speedometer and all other guages do work. The guy I bought it from said its some sensor on the transmission, said his is the opposite the speedometer was broke but the odometer worked. I didn't worry too much about it because it ran great, sounded great, was cheap, only 1 owner and I needed a work car.
Thank you in advance for all the help, sorry for the long post.

For your first problem, jump the Service Check Connector under the passenger side dash to get the trouble code(s). You've probably seen this link:
techauto dot awardspace dot com/transmission.html
For the third problem, use your car key and push in the slot to the bottom-left of the speedometer. Do this a couple of times, this usually gets the odometer going again. The odometer is mechanical on your generation Accord.

Most the the 5th gen Accords (94 - 97) didn't have the same problems as the 4th gen Accords with the TCU. I just sent you to the link so you see how to retrieve the transmission trouble codes. The transmission trouble codes are also included at that link.

Oh ok I see thank you. Will it give a code even though the light is not on? It only flashes and it has only done it three times in the year that I have owned the car. Doesn't sound like a long time but I drive it atleast 100 miles a day to and from work, the whole reason to buy it was gas milage (which is excellent!! 33 - 36 highway mpg!! city milage sucks but most of my driving is highway anyway) Thank you again

Ok I did the code check, It did one short flash paused for 5 seconds then flashed 8 short flashes. So is this a code 18 or code 8 and what does it mean?
On the way to work this morning I pushed the maintenance button and guess what the odometer started working again!! This site is great, I kinda feel like an idiot that something so simple fixed it but oh well lol.

It is the D4 light, I didn't see the check engine light but I also did not look for it either.
The code was a single quick flash then a 5 second pause then 8 quick flashes, a pause then a single quick flash 5 second pause then 8 flashes and so on.
