Default 1995 accord 4cyl ex wont start.

hello all,

This is my first post on this forum.

I just picked up a 1995 accord ex 4cly automatic for 300 bucks.

one of the issues is that it will not stat.

i go to turn the key over and i get nothing.

the p/o stated that he put a new battery and starter in the vehicle. then one day he couldnt start the vehicle...

Is there anything i need to check that would sound like a sure fire easy answer? im not new to cars just new to this issue.

I would assume that if the bendix was messed up on the alt that it would still try to crank correct?

Disconnect the small wire going to the starter and check for 12V when you turn the key to start the car.

Also, do you hear anything when you turn the key to start the car? Do the electronics turn on in the car when you turn the key to the II position, but do not try to start the car?

you are special, thanks for adding such helpful information to the thread.

OP report back after you test for 12 volts at the small wire on the starter when you turn the key.

He said its an auto.

Try shifting the car into neutral and trying to start the car.

Do the brake lights work properly?
