1995 EX V6 Hood Compatability
A good friend of mine recently wrecked his 95 EX V6 sedan, with a scant 150 K on the odo. Please help him keep this great Accord on the road:
The only issue he is having where parts are concerned is the hood. I know it's different than the 94-95 4cyl hood, but visually it appears to be the same as my 96 4cyl LX hood and grill.
So my question is this: is a 96-97 4 cyl hood identical to his 95 V6?
If he uses the 4 cyl hood are there any other fitment issues? Will he need to convert to a prop rod as opposed to his hood springs?
Thanks so much!

The front end of the car on the 95-97 V6 cars is bigger than the 4-cyl to accommodate the bigger engine. If you look up the OEM part number for the hood, the 95-97 V6s are the only ones identical.
I am not sure what the differences are to the 4-cylinder. You can measure a 96 4-cylinder hood to see what the difference is in size.
The other alternative is to find a 95-97 V6 hood on a site like car-part.com. That searches junkyards for hoods sorted by price or distance. You may find a cheap one near where you live.
