1996 accord lx 4 cyl. A/C problem need help troubleshooting

going to assume this is a nippondenso compressor

It appears to be a bad compressor....
The bearing already started making noise and the covering on the electromagnet is already melting.....

It happens.....lol
Thanks for all your help. I'm just going to buy a new one and take it from there...
The system should be vacuumed for at least 30 min, correct?
I was looking at my service book but it doesn't go into the a/c. If you know, how much oil should I pump into it once I replace the compressor?

Look in the "Common DIY Threads" sticky at the top of this section for a manual you can download (sect 22, pg 22). I will only hit the highlights, TX might chime in with additional info....

For the compressor, drain the old one and replace with ~ same amount removed. Also suggest replacing the filter dryer, add ~1/3 oz of oil for that.
