1996 Accord Mild Heat
Hey Guys,
Thanks for your help. I have a 1996 coupe 4 cyl vtech. I just spent $2100 to have the below listed things fixed or replaced
- Heater core replaced
- AC charged
- Timing belt cover gasket replaced
- water pump replaced
- Temp control and fan controls replaced
My main concern was that my car had NO heat. Now that the heater core has been replaced, it has mild heat. The floor he is perfect and very warm, but the vent heat is mild.
What should be looked at next to get full heat out of the vents?
As I said, the heater core was replaced as well as the temp control ***. The valve in the engine that opens and closes when the temp control *** is turned is working as well.
Why do I not have full heat out of the vents?

If the floor vents are hot, then this has to deal with the way air is being pushed through the vents. I never had to mess with the heater in my 95 accord.
In the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum, there is a link for online shop manuals. There is a 94 accord shop manual that you can get that is pretty much identical to your 96. Look at the HVAC section to see how the doors divert air through the system.
I am not sure if you can easily access the heater unit.
