Default 1997 Accord V6 Power Steering & Alternator Belt R&R

I'm trying to find a video or guide about replacing the power steering belt and alternator belt on my 1997 accord v6 auto.

I've found the 4 banger one, but its totally different. There is a dog leg on the passenger side, and I'm guessing I need to remove all three belts and loosen up that dog leg and jack the motor up?

Yeah, saw that one already. He just loosens the belt and then put its back on. Guess I'll try my own DIY video lol --- lots of editing probably

For the alternator belt, you would first loosen the through bolt (so that the alternator can pivot), then loosen the adjusting bolt. See attached pic.

For the power steering belt, it looks like you would first loosen the mounting bolts so the pump can move a little), then loosen the adjusting nut. There may be a protective cap you have to pull off before you see the adjusting nut and bolt.

With the alternator, I have to remove the belt that goes to the a/c -- No big deal.
Now the power steering belt is the one with the dog leg I was referring too.

Gotta jack up engine and take that off?

That looks like engine motor mount support.

Yes, you will need to jack up on oil pan w/ a wood block support on oil pan. Just take engine load slightly and remove part, allowing jack to assume load and hold engine position for re-installation.

I checked 94-97 Accord download manual for guidance and nothing on V6. I checked a later model (98-02) shop manual for guidance on belt replacement and found nothing there either.

good luck

Thanks for looking into it. I guess a DIY video will help out. Strange that no real information is out there about the V6 belt.
