Default 1999 Accord O2 sensor replaced light still on?

I have a 1999 Honda Accord which had the Check Engine Light come on. I live in NY so it will not pass inspection with the light on. I had AutoZone pull the code (i can't remember the exact code) but it was the Oxygen Sensor. I replaced both Oxygen Sensors (upstream and downstream with Denso) I also replaced the Mass Airflow Sensor, spark plugs and air filter. I reset the codes and the light went out, but when I start the car within 30 secs the light is back on. The code is the same Oxygen Sensor. I have checked the plugs, mounts, wires and used the O2 socket for install and removal. I have driven the car around 20-30 miles and reset the code, but it comes back on almost immediately with the Oxygen Code. Do I need to drive the car 100-200 miles to get it to reset? What am I missing here? I also heard there is a way to reset/bypass the code so that it will pass the State monitoring at the time of inspection. Sounds like they reset the code and they inspect the car while the computer is just monitoring the sensors prior to tripping the code. Open for any help I can get on this issue.

Get the trouble code and post it, as that will give more clues to narrow down the problem.

troubleshooting is more than just getting a code and replacing parts. also, why did you replace the maf? just for grins & giggles?

IIRC, 1999 Accord didn't have MAF sensor, only a MAP sensor. I believe the MAF sensor started appearing on the 2003 - current Accords.

Yep, he must mean MAP. I seen from some of your previous posts (e.g., access to ISIS, etc.), you're an actual Honda tech?

My suggestion is unhook the battery--let the computer reset after a few minutes re-connect the battery--see if that clears the code....make sure and test drive it around the block or so to make sure the reset took.

1999 codes can be cleared by pulling the #13 fuse in the right-side fusebox - located at the right-side end of the dashboard, near the right-front door hinges. Or pull the negative battery cable.

Beginning in 2003 the non-volatile memory can't be cleared without a code reader.
