The check engine light came on in the car on Saturday. Car was running fine. 2 weeks prior we had put the muffle pipe back on after it fell off. Couldn't afford to get a new one. Today, went out and started the car, got about 3 miles up the road and it the CEL starting flashing, the car was struggling to accelerate and it seemed to be shaking. I brought it back home. I've always had a problem with it losing oil, but have been diligent in making sure the oil is filled. Any suggestions?

 

Get the code(s)?

I'll guess, do nothing on a guess, that you will find a misfire code (p1399, p0301 thru p0304). Then we will ask about the tune up items....cap, rotor, plugs and inspect the wires.

Again get the code(s) and we can go from there....
