Default 2.2 EX Burning a Little Oil

We just bought a new 06 Accord, and gave my son our '97 EX 4cyl. I noticed today a little puff of blue smoke when he started it up. It's only got 120,000 miles...could this be some type of leakage from valve stem seals, or should I worry about the engine crapping out on him? It's been running great. It's a little noisier than newer Hondas, but I've been told this is normal.

Any need to worry?

If the motor was cold and it was a tiny puff, I really wouldn't worry. Now if it does it warm, then there may be a situation. Just keep on taking care of that motor and it will last a REAL long time.

I have a little oil leak myself, the dealer told me when it will get bad enough to be fixed. I have a 96 Accord with 186,000

Little puff at start indicates valve stem seals leaking a little oil to the pistons while sitting.. You could drive the car for another 150,000 miles and still this is not a serious issue, but it could get worse. Solution: replace valve stem seals, valve cover gasket and tube seals, for about 300 bucks. Meanwhile, change to a slightly thicker oil, it may help.
