2000 Accord TPS Issue
Hello! New to the forums - long story short on daughters 2000 Accord - severely overheated it twice - started losing coolant - not in oil. Determined head/head gasket failure. New head and the works. Compression good, spark good, have fuel.
car will start but runs rough, low idle, won’t hold a steady rpm. Threw code for ICV. replaced that with little to no change. Unplugged TPS and while it didn’t idle rpm surge stopped when throttle was held steady. Determined TPS was bad. Bought TPS from autozone. Tested voltage and have steady 5 volts from ground to yellow wire. Problem is There isn’t enough adjustment to get the voltage down to .5 with throttle closed. With sensor removed I can get it there but it is almost 90 degrees off from adjustable range. I thought the sensor was bad so I returned it with exact same results on new one. Help - I’m stumped. I have done many head jobs and feel confident in that repair and timing is set properly.

ok. I got the wiring corrected and was able to get the tps set. However today it won’t start at all. It fires but won’t actually start. I double checked my timing it’s good. I did another compression test and got 120psi across all cylinders. That seems a little low but it’s an old gauge and it was consistent so I’m thinking I’m ok there. Should be enough to start the car. I’m at a bit of a loss. I haven’t checked fuel pressure but I can hear the fuel pump and every time I’ve disconnect the fuel line there is significant discharge. Again it fires but never actually starts. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
