2000 Accord Wont Start After Transmission Change
I've searched the forums for a similiar circumstance but cannot find anything to help. A buddy and I swapped out the A/T out of a 2000 Accord EX 2.3L that had over 300,000 miles on it and was slipping pretty bad between 1 and 2 gear. Installed a JDM "MCJA" transmission in place of the BAXA (I think since the sticker was gone). Installation was a breeze but had to replace two sensors from the old transmission to allow connectivity with the harness. Now the car will not start via the key but will start by jumping it at the solenoid and the key in the start position. I am unsure what to look for now and my daughter needs the car to drive back to take her final exam in college. Any help is appreciated.

I am guessing that when you turn the key to start, nothing happens? Do you even hear a click?
I would check that both battery cable terminals have clean and tight connections on all ends (especially on the starter).
Also check that the 2nd connection on the starter from the ignition switch is clean and secured.

Another test that you can try.
Have your daughter turn the key to the start position and hold it there. That second connection should have 12V on it by testing with a volt meter. If it does have 12V, hit the casing for the solenoid a few times with the handle of a screwdriver. If it starts up, then the solenoid contacts are worn out.
If that wire doesn't have 12V, then something upstream is wrong (like the a/t gear position switch isn't in park/neutral).

seems to me you got problem with sensor on tranny doesnt think its in park or neut. make sure connectors r plugged in and no bent pins allowing no contact. also check adjustments on shift linkage. you could try to manual shift into park r nuet. if no start check wiring if does start adjust shifter
