Default 2000 Honda Accord lx v6 transmission Problem?

hi everyone and merry christmas, newbie here.
i had a question for all you honda owners, im having an issue with my 2000 accord lx v6, it just recently started ill start the car up as usual let it warm up and then i put it in drive and i put my foot on the gas pedal and nothing happens then all of a sudden while coasting BANG it takes off and slams into the first gear and then drives normally, it kind of feels like a manuel transmission when your taking your foot off the clutch and it jerks but its an automatic transmission, im lost but im not sure if its a trans problem or what. no engine codes nothing....thanks Peter

Imagine that...a 98-02 Accord auto trans problem....go figure LOL
There is an extended warranty for many of those transmissions, it will most likely need a rebuilt unit or replacement.

I'm a newbie too and I had the same issue. I had just purchased my Honda used from a private seller. Honda had an extended good faith repair ...I think this is what they called it. They new that there were a lot of faulty transmissions out there. I think the time\mileage on this was 109,000 and 7 years. Unfortunatly I had passed this time limit and they would not repair at full cost. However they did give me a big discount and the trans for that car is about $4000k. So call Honda Corp and scream and hollar.
