2001 Accord EX 2.3 Crank/No Start
Good evening,
I’ve been beating my head on my sons car trying to figure it out. At times the car will crank and not start. During this time the green key light is not illuminated on the dash. At times I can tap under the steering wheel bottom panel and the green key light will come on allowing the vehicle to be started.
He just purchased it from an individual so I don’t have a lot of history on it. I’ve heard possibilities of the immobilizer, main relay, fuel pump relay. Any ideas out there or some best practices to figure this one out?
thank you,
Kyle

The green key symbol would point towards the sensor in the steering wheel for the immobilizer. Maybe a loose/corroded connection?
Try using a spare key if available, to see if the issue is with the transponder that sends the signal from your key.

I only have the one key for the vehicle/no remote if it matters.

Replaced the main relay that is under the dash and have had no starting issues with the vehicle since. I hope this helps someone out there.
