Default 2001 Accord V6 Timing Belt

I've read a few of the other timing belt threads here and I'm uncertain of which line up well enough so forgive me if I'm repeating other threads too much.

I saw some questions about the special tools Honda recommends but they were for a 4 cyl. Are they any more vital for a V6? What exactly are the tools doing. Without looking at the tools, I couldn't really tell if it was being used to release some catches or if it could easily be replaced by an extra set of hands. What exactly are they doing and can I just forgo the expensive tool or do I need to break down and buy one or two?

The only specialty tool that I know of for the 4 cylinder is the crank pulley restraining tool. You would also need a deep 19 mm socket and some sturdy extensions.

That restraining tool will help when your have to tighten or loosen the crank pulley. An impact wrench may or may not work, because the crank pulley bolt is on there pretty tight.

You won't be able to loosen the crank bolt without the holder tool. Also on the V6 you need the C-shaped tool that holds the tensioner in the retracted position.
