Hey all,
Im new here and new to owning a honda, I been fighting these misfires for the past two weeks now. I replaced my spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap and rotor and did the valve cover gasket as well as the tube seals. The problem seemed to have gotten better but the codes came back today. when my girlfriend went to work this morning. At times we can smell a strong scent of gas and also noticed today when taking trash out the bumper was a little discolored above the exhaust. I don't know what else to check or diagnose. The car has is a 4 cylinder vtec at 150k miles and I dont have alot of money to throw at the car so i wanna know all the possibilites before going towards a blown head gasket which im starting to think is the problem.

It seems to run fine at all times even when warm. The only problem is when starting it warm or cold it won't start on the first try. The second try it will turn on but with a rough idle for about the first 3 seconds and then it will level out to its normal rpm.

It sounds like you have a spark problem, because you smelled gas. My guess is that the CEL will come back, so you want to take care of the items that
Oil leaking inside of the distributor is the shaft seal and that can be replaced. It will take a bit of work. I think that TexasHonda, a moderator on here, has replaced this seal, so you may want to send him a message. Honda doesn't sell the shaft seal, so they say you have to buy the distributor housing. That seal is available online.
The o-ring is very simple to replace and prevents oil from leaking down the cylinder head. That would not stop oil from getting inside of the distributor.
