2003 2.0 Auto Accord Rear Caliper
Hello,
My rear calliper has been binding for ages and its now worn the pad out and grinding metal on metal so i'd better get to changing it.
When sourcing a new caliper are there other years of accords that share the same caliper as mine? Or other cars that will have the same?
Thanks
Tim

Here's a USA rear caliper, UK is probably almost identical.
There's only one piston, so the body of the caliper has to slide to apply pressure on the outboard pad. The slide pins (#17 & 29) should be greased & they should slide easily. Remove the bolts #34 & then the caliper body should slide off with a little persuasion - then you can check the slide pins for smooth movement.
The brake pads #9 should fit nicely into the caliper bracket. Should NOT be wedged tightely in there, because they need to release when you take your foot off the brake pedal. Sometimes I have needed to file off a little material, usually no more than the thickness of the paint. A bit of brake grease on the top & bottom of the pads is good, where they fit into the caliper bracket. DO NOT get grease onto the braking surface of the pads & rotors.

(I made it so it's NOT an active link 'cause they aren't a sponsor here)
or go to hondaautomotiveparts dot com
click on PARTS
put in your car's information - actually make something up because they don't have UK cars
Select REAR BRAKE (DISK) as the category
