2003 accord blower motor cuts in/out

03' accord V6 A/C blower motor stopped working
I just wanted to thank PAhonda for this post. My A/C stopped blowing last week and after doing some online searching, I found this post. I was about to change my blower motor, until I ran the A/C diagnostics. The bottom segment of the second 8 on the driver side was not blinking. I removed the transistor and soldering a 1 ohm resistor that I got from The Shack. I reinstalled it and now it works great. I cant imagine how much I would have been charged to get this fixed at the dealership. Thanks again PA!
This is strange. Over the last week or two, three people have had the same problem on their 03 accords. That error you got is for the blower motor circuit.
It is likely the blower motor transistor that is the culprit. If you are good with a soldering iron, you can repair it yourself for pretty cheap. If not, you can buy a new one from the dealership.
Here is a DIY about how to do this: honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2041582&highlight=repair+blower+r esistor
I think that a fuse should be soldered in there and NOT a 1 ohm resistor. Read the comments under that member's DIY.
Also, someone posted their fix in our forums and used a thermal fuse.

On other products, Acuras and Hondas, the element you replaced is a thermal fuse designed to "blow" at a preset temp 140F or so. By replacing w/ a resistor you may overheat and blow the transistor or fuse. Cause of overheating could be a severely blocked cabin air filter. Has cabin air filter been replaced?

First post here! I joined to help me maintain my friend's '03 four door Accord. I'm very active on the LS1tech forums, I'm a GM guy.
Her blower motor quit. Thanks to this thread and a few things on youtube, I determined the transistor controller was blown. I did the resistor mod but that didn't fix it. A new module fixed the problem.
Also thanks to this thread, I checked the CAF. Yep, it was clogged up.
The owner paid a Honda dealership 80 bucks to replace it 10 months ago. Obviously, with the little use this car sees, they charged her but didn't do the job.
80 dollars spent to change a 15 dollar filter-that they didn't do, causing an 85 dollar part to blow.
I'm wondering: How much would the stealership want to diagnose and replace the module?
From now on, anything this car ever needs, even washer fluid, gets cleared by me first.
