2003 Accord Lx Sedan mileage/g
Hello, everyone.
I just got my accord about ten days ago, and I feel like
it consumes too much gasoline.
I have known as the miles/g should be about mid 20 in town, but
I spent full gas only for 200 miles.
When I picked up this one, the dealer gave me full gas tank.
Do you think the oil can be problem like bad condition oil?
I'm going to refill my car with new gas tomorrow, and I
hope it will be different.
Does any of you have any clue what happened to my car?
It was certified Used car.. Should I go and check it?
I'm so concerning about this problem.
Thank You.

yea well it depends on how you drive it. i can cash out a tank of gas in my accord in about 250 miles if i want or i can do the same thing in about 350 miles. you will get better gas mileage out of a lower grade fuel. so i would just use the regular gas, but always get it at a high quality station, and i would always recommend getting top tier gas like chevron. but yea certified used car just means that they looked under the hook, and they didnt find any rods sticking out of the block. you may have a dirty fuel/air filter which will lower your gas mileage, and your tires may be low. check the proper rating in the drivers door jam and fill those bitches up. mileage hypothetically could go up 3-5 mpg, or about an extra 42-70 extra miles per tank.

o yea and if you oil is ****ty your mileage will go way down, and so will your horsepower. if you switch to a pao base synthetic (mobil 1) your mileage will go up even more than if you use a regular oil.

hey yea. chevron and QT are both top teir rated. top teir is what honda and some other car companies have decided is the gas that Should be run in their cars. shells detergent pakage is also pretty good, but im not sure if their gas is top teir. I dont know if you have those stations in your area you may need to do some research on which companies have the best gas. the companies that i have just mentioned are the best ones in My area.

shell has a slighly higer octane then what they advertise (offer) at the pump. their gas is a little more pure then chevron. at this shop a dude told me that his friend works for fuel companies and he said that chevron is a lot more water diluted then shell. but shell will not last as long as chevron because of its purity. but it is a good gas, gives a car a little higher performance (slight power gain) and it's a lot cleaner, which means less particles get stuck throughout the engine, and exhaust system, and gas tank.

the mileage thing was bad for me too. At about half a tank I got like 100 miles in the city by the time the light came on. I got an oil change with synthetic and also installed a v2 intake. It does pretty well now.
