Default 2003 Honda Accord LX ABS Light is On

Hello,

I own a 2003 Honda Accord LX 4-cycl. auto trans with only 36500. On my way home from work tonight, stopped at a stop sign, I pulled out into traffic and had to really step on the gas to get into the traffic flow. There was some gravel on the road and my car tires squealed (peeled out).

I got home and everything was fine. Half hour later I went to the bank, started driving and my ABS light came on. I was out for approx. 20 mins and the ABS light stayed on. I got home turn the car off, turned it back on and the ABS light was off.

Could making my tires squeal, cause my ABS light to come on?

Thanks for any help,
Sheryl

It's possible the spinning tires set a code due to ABS controller detecting large difference in wheel speed from wheel speed sensors. I wouldn't worry unless ABS light re-illuminates.

good luck

I've slipped on gravel & snow with the 2003 Accord, and the ABS light never stayed on. So ????

I don't think AutoZone can get ABS codes with their simple readers. It would be nice to know the error code, but don't worry unless it comes back again.

Well, Today my ABS light came back on. Just normal driving. Stop at a light, looked down and noticed my ABS light was on. I pulled into a parking lot, turned the car off, started it again, no light???? Does anyone have any ideas what I should do???

Thanks,
Sheryl

Get the code, because a problem can arise from many sources.

The autozone scanner may be able to get the code. Its worth a shot.
